Heavy Weapons

I'm planning to restrict the firearms in my current map to the fictious weapons from FO 1 & 2. However this leaves the heavy weapons catagory woefully light. Other than the Flamer the only other one I can think of is the Bozar (I assuming this is a fictious weapon, I've not been able to find any real world weapon by that name). Are there any I'm forgetting about or does anyone have any suggestions/sprites that can be used to create some generic fallout style weaponry?

the minigun, and rocket launcher should stay too. use the old graphic for the rocket launcher, its cooler. also, the flamer, thats from fallout
other than that... i dont recal any other BG's from fallout.
there are the minigun spin offs, avenger and vindicator. and the flamer mk2..
the m60/LSW arent really fallouty, but you could add them.
if its just for a map your making, id say that the flamer, rocketlauncher and minigun, and bozar seem good. those all remind me of fallout.
if you want, i know how to model/render, and i can render from a specific angle, so if you want me to try and make a FO1/2 style flamer/minigun/rocket launcher, id be happy to.
(look at the new psycho model in the fan art forum, its pretty good... i made it :wink: )

I'm talking about the weapon item type 'heavy' that uses the m60 animation not the Big Guns skill, and yeah I meant the flamer rather than the RPG, sorry.

I'm not sure if I'll include miniguns, I think they'll be too advanced for the map, most people will be scavengers using pipe rifles and zip guns or 10mm weapons.

I'm not sure I'm going to use the flamer, or the RPG which is why I'm looking for some other choices.

hmm perhaps you can try designing some new fictious weapons : )

Fictional Big Guns from the two RPGs are:
- Minigun (I used to hate these, but now I have to say that walking around w/a huge multi-barreled phallic symbol is as much a part of FO as a Box o' Noodles.)
- Avenger Minigun
- Vindicator Minigun
- Rocket Launcher
- Flamer
- Bozar
(Just to consolidate in something easily readable.)
The Bozar looks suspiciously like the M82A1 Barret .50 cal. sniper...er...excuse me "anti-materiel rifle", and I suspect that's essentially what it was supposed to be, but I can't find anything to confirm it.
If you want, use the FO2 M60 sprite from my demo, but have the weapon called "Machinegun" or something. (If that sprite's not in there, email me and I'll send you the FO2 version of the sprite.) The sprite doesn't look very much like the actual weapon, or if you think it does, at least it looks like the other fictional weapons of the RPGs.

so, whats the exact situation/scenario in your map?
im pretty good at coming up with ideas based on restraints.., tell me more

Well I like the idea of the machine gun that OTB suggested. Here are a few more fictitious name if you're looking for something a little weaker:
Dunno what sprite you could use for these but here they are...
Automatic Nail Gun (yeah, like the one in quake, ROF - 8, range - 30+?, damage: 5-12). I think that would be pretty weak.
Zipper (fires 10MM bullets like Zip gun) ROF - 7, Range - 26+, damage: 6-15. Another weak idea.
Super Shell Shooter (har har. takes 12 gauge) ROF - 5, range - 20+, damage: 14-29. A bit powerful but you could make it take more AP to use.

Haven't decided yet, the original premise was just too damn big, so I've split into three seperate senarios, two of which can be implemented with the tile work I have done, I'll probably make my mind up when it comes time to write the speech files and start populating the map. Otherwise all I can say is I'm interested in pre-war weapons rather than anything cobbled together after the apocalypse. All senarios feature the finding of a cache of pre-war technology.
Image wise I kind of like the big guns in Wolfenstien 3D and in the World War II mod there's the MG13, I like the style of that, and there are some guns in Arcanum along similar lines. Modern types of weapons done in a retro fashion, very inkeeping with Fallout.

cool, i was gonna suggest some ww2 weapons... but i thought i shouldnt have.
