It looks like the same problem that Duff Beer had, you might try looking at that thread.

I don't think we found a resolution to his problem though :P

Hapend to me too - ok, so my CD was a little old and a bit worn, so I thought I might ISO format it to my HD - but the freaking prg. kept reading bad sectors from the CD.
"Argh crap", I thought - so I just downloaded it from E-donkey and ran it with the Ghost Tools - even runs more smoothly now with the CD on MY HD.

But to make a long story short - just rip the CD to your HD and that should be the end of that.

Ray, I warn you now for the first and last time.

Never post a thread with a fucked up title like this one, or I'll lock it.

Now, I'm changing it to something more apporpiate then "WTF".

I know you are going to ask what's wrong with that so i'll just answer the question now, because titles are things used to describe the thread.

So you can install it , you can´t just play it? Then try tó install the Humongous Installation

That worked in Fo1, but in my version of Fo2 you could do the humongous installation and it still required the cd. Maybe try to find some kind of a no-cd crack.

Yes, you should. I think there's something corrupt in the installation, because humongous install shouldn't EVER require a cd to play. I think.

Actually you need to copy the music. Though this shouldn't propmt for the CD but instead simply not play the music - which is what I've seen personally.

check the music_path line in the Fallout cfg file.

You're right. If you use Humongous Install, than you can play the game without the CD. Since its only about 925 MB, I always choose that install, as I have a 40GB HD. I've been doing this for about two years now, and have never had to use the CD for anything other than installing the game.

I had a similar problem with NHL 2002 after I installed my second hard drive. If you have two CD drives or two hard drives, it's probably looking at the wrong one. As far as how to fix it... there was a cfg file or something I had to fix... I'll check and see if I can find it...

Nope, I've reinstalled it since then and I can't remember where the file is at... sorry...
