Which.bos file needs unpacking to give my recruitsportraits?

I need to know what .bos file needs to be unpacked so I can give my custom recruits portraits.

The portraits are contained in the gui_0.bos file. However, you actually don't need to unpack any of the BOS files to give your characters custom portraits. This is because the game checks any uncompressed files before it checks the BOS files themselves.

Assuming the you have the game installed to the default directory, all you have to do is set up the following directory:

C:\Program Files\14 Degrees East\Fallout Tactics\core\gui\char

You then place ZAR files to use as portraits in this directory. The portraits must have a width of 75 pixels and a height of 100 pixels in order to function properly. They must have a file name that is identical to the recruit's Display Name, which is found in their ENT file. (Check the characters.txt in core/locale/game to find the names.)

the damn editor

Well see, when I go to make my recruits in the entity editor, it wont let me select a portrait, all there is a blank, I thought maybe if I unpacked them from gui_0.bos then maybe it'll let me, but Ill have to wait untill I get home to try it out.*shrug*

No, there's no option to select a portrait for an entity. Like I said, it's determined by the Display Name, which also controls what name and background are displayed for the 'cruit.
