i'm sure you all know this already, but it never hurts to hear it again...

when placing walls, make sure you place them so they line up with the floor grid..
it is possible to have them offset, and this is fine as long as you don't want a roof...
if however you want to put a roof on your nice new building, then it needs to line up with the grid... or you will get gaps round the edge of your roof, or overhanging roof tiles...
the last thing you want to do is make your nice map, fill it full of items and scenery, only to find that the roof doesn't fit.. which means hours of moving walls to fit it just right.

as a side note.. some scenery object tend to stick into walls if they are not lined up with the floor..

Yes, it's best to load up a map using F8 and checking which scenary or items clip through the walls. Some come in two pieces so you can fix them, like showers, but for most you'll have to stick em in the middle of the room, far as I know...

When screwing up a room or whatnot, in relation to roofs, next time, try the copyall function, copy it somewhere harmless, delete all the original stuff, copy over to the proper place again, and finally delete the copy.

A longer cut&paste, but better then spending hours moving every single wall and whatnot at a time.

i just click on one of the walls, press p to find it, then stick a bookmark in so i can fast find the wall sets, then just delete all of the walls and start from scratch.. ( i find it easier to place new walls than try and move existing ones.. but each to their own.. )

The copy function is too bothersome for me.. it never seems to place the copied items where i click, instead it seems to offset from the cursor,

Using the copy all method is also doubling the amount of deleting you have to do.. since you have to copy the building to a safe location, delete the original, then copy the building again to the new location, and then delete the building from the safe location.. and that's assuming you have the space to move the building to..

it would be easier if you could select multiple walls and move them all at once ( like the ctrl+click to select multiple files in windows.. ), but it's no use dreaming is it...?
