Friendly Fire

Like Tactics? Found a cool mod for another game that reminds you of Fallout? Playing those crappy spin-off console games called "Fallout"? Discuss here.

Urban CQB 101

The "Donut-laser" rule:

Draw a line from the shooter to the target. Any thing on the "laser" line is as good as hit. Any thing within two cells of anything on the laser, the "laser donuts", is as good as hit. The lower the accuracy and the more volumous the fire the bigger the donuts.

Got it? so stay outside the donuts, rely on higher accuracy people and use guns with lower volume bursts (and you might want to stick to smaller calibre weapons, just incase you do hit your own guys it won't be quite so bad).

i have one tip, spread out. Never setup someone with the M2 browning behind a guy with the sniper rifle. One thing that i used was the British style of setting up soldiers, cept instead of everybody having the same weapon, I would have people with fully autos ducking, and people with single shots standing behind them.

Yeah, that works to.
Infact you could use "stacking" as well! the prone gut might be troblesome but I'm sure you could work it out.

Dont do that! I tried it, and your guys are garunteed to hit each other (prone/crouch/standing stack) You should be able to get away with a 2 stack, just keep your snipers in the back and get the bursters up front.

Thanks for the help. F.F. problem is gone now. The only problems I have now are dealing with the Super-Muties and finding a copy of FO1/2. Cheers.

Super mutants are best delt with either a suprise burst from a shottie or M249 (SAW), or by sniping them so they run into your trap (really only works on melee). I also sneak my grenider in close so i can lob nades close to the muties when they duck behind cover.

Its best to do a simultaneous suprise attack on a group of gun wielding muties... that way they dont waste all their ammo on shooting at you... it wastes time and money! Believe me, you can never have enough 7.62 and .50 cal ammo.

On the trench mission (with all the super muties, St. Louis I think... the one where Gen Barnaky gets captured) you can drive the APC across the radioactive moat in the corner... there is a chest with an enfield experimental rifle in it. Its a decent weapon... has a pretty long range for burst fire.
