I setup simple instructions on how to install the Editor for the Demo version (either the MP or SP versions, both work, but the default values are for the MP demo).
The "patching" probably enfringes several license agreements, but the "patch" itself is perfectly legal as it's actually pretty simple (specially ig any of you already tried this... anyhoo).
So
a) Is there interest in this?
and
b) Is there a use for this?
I meant technically I don't see how this could hurt FO:T sales, it'd only possibly increase them if people like mods for the demo, thus getting them to buy the full game to get more...

Assuming all of the code is in the demo that's in the full game (i.e. the ability to pick Custom Mission and/or Custom Campaign, all of the gun code, etc.), the only problem with playing custom maps with the demo is the lack of the tiles from the full game. That'd be one big-ass download!Jimmyjay86 wrote:I don't have any problems with it!
How much can someone with a demo version of the game play custom maps? I wouldn't think they could play them at all. If that was the case it would be pointless to have the editor and not be able to test out their creations.

No, the idea is to leave it as the demo, so eveyrone could LEGALLY play mods. So only the tiles and sprites from the demo (and various patches made available free from IPLY, such as the 1.27 patch and the 3rc CD patch).
Once done you can use the old engine which would mean renaming one of the two main game maps (or the training missions)
-OR-
Using the 1.27 FOT .exe the same way a normal game works (but with a smaller tile set/sprite selection) albeit with a crack.
