Endless Timer and walking through walls in Military Base

Anybody have problems with the timer getting frozen, or walking under walls/scenery while fighting the Mutants in the Military Base Level2?

I've always had a few problems with this location, those damn Mutants in the main room move so slow and then get in a jam trying to get in to the corridor, but I've just spent an hour and a half clearing this level (so I can get the PA) and it's been absolutely dreadful. I was using the P90 to use up some of the 10mmJHP I've accumulated, but I had to switch to the plasma pistol and then rifle because burst fire seemed to guarantee the game would crash. I've had to reboot at least eight times and took to saving whenever it was my turn before I took any action. Then when I got into the little room with the 3 Mutants below the lift I started to walk under the walls and other scenery and now that I've cleared the level and gotten the PA I can't get the elevator to activate (I think I'm walking under it rather than into it).

It's blooming frustrating to say the least. Luckily I had the sense to keep a save game from before I attacked anyone but I really don't fancy playing that level again.

I'm running the B-Team mod and Patch000.dat through Fame2 under Windows 98 SE and had no problems, in the Den or New Reno, with waiting for large crowds to take their turn. Anyone ever had any similar problems (in a normal game)? Fame doesn't report any conflicts between the 2 patches when I start up and the rest of the game plays beautifully except for this one location.

I think your savegame is corrupt. That's not normal - and never heard of it before.

Wouldn't surprise me, I couldn't crtl, alt & delete to get out of FO2 when it froze up so I had to hit the reset button (not something I like to do) ah well I suppose I'll have to start over. Once more into the breach dear friends.

I've never had any problems in the MB... but I have seen the "walking through walls" bug/feature in Gecko's power plant before. I distinctly remember being vaguely puzzled when my character decided to take a... shortcut... to the exit. :)
Was fixx0r3d when I re-entered Gecko itself again. I think. Either that or I'd loaded an older savegame. Hmm... nope, can't remember.

Well I think my whole installation is bugged, any weapon using AP ammo gives me targeting values of -684 or something to that effect, whereas the same weapon with jhp ammo etc gives a normal value of up to 95%. Plus for the very first time I'm experiencing problems in the fights in SF, multiple opponents, and the final sparring partner going invisible and not attacking etc. Ah well, I reloaded, did the third and forth levels of the base, with no problem except taking on Malchior's pets with no PA. Then went to SF and bought a set of PA with all the flamers etc I picked up, so I managed to do the non-violent solution to Navarro. With the B-Team mod everyone now has PA so I'll just ignore that one location, for now.

That B-Team mod may be what is causing your problems. You may want to let them know about your problems so they can see about fixing it.

Will do, but I've always had some trouble with the timer getting frozen on the second level of the Military Base, even when I had FO2 installed on a different pc.
