I installed Fallout Tactics: Brotherhoodd of Steel and went to play, the screen went black as usual but that damned MS error 'ping' sounds and this pops up:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
[Box Header] Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!
Program: C:\PROGRAM FILES\14 DEGREES EAST\FALLOUT TACTICS\BOS.EXE

abnormal program termination
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Erm, I'm stumped, never had this before.

System specs:

Pentium 2 450mhz
256mb RAM
Dell D1226H on STB nVidia ZXV 8MB (ugh, yeah I know)

Grabbed the v1.27 patch and that didn't help.

1st BTW :D

Try installing to a different path, if you use the default path C:\Program Files\14 Degrees East\Fallout Tactics make a folder FOT directly under the root directory and install Tactics to that ie C:\FOT

or vice versa.

I reeeeeeeally hope that doesn't refer to your video card. If it does, that could be your problem. Especially if the drivers are old.

My God, man! That's a first-generation AGP video card you're talking about! Since it's a Dell PC, you probably can't upgrade it without also replacing the motherboard. Here's a handy tip: Build a nice new 500-1000 dollar system and turn that Dell into a reaaally low-end file server or something. My suggestion for a low-end system? Go the AMD route. They always have a cheaper CPU in the low-end market than Intel. Its been that way since the K6-2 (remember Socket 7?). A 1Ghz Athlon runs about 40 bucks these days (www.pricewatch.com), and it would provide more than DOUBLE the proccessing power than your current system.
