Help, Joe(MV)Pine

Well anyone could help but I have already e-mailed MV with these questions so I thought it best to get his attention.
Okay I am new at this but I have read most of the info files and played with editor for F.OT. some but I would like to know (1)How to you put cap letters in the triggers. Caps do not work for me, I have win XP but that shouldn't make a difference.(2)I have tried to tie wavs to the speech just as the game does but with no luck. I used the editor to look at Mission 1 and tried to copy the triggers exactly, named the wavs the same as the speech node but with a w at the end. ex....m01_kellyspeaks_01_w , and put the wav into the speech folder but doesn't seem to work.Do you need caps on the files to make them work?
Thanks, I know everybody is busy with other things but I would love to learn more and maybe build a single player map to share when my skills improve.
Thanks for any help.

Recently? I haven't seen any FOT-related emails in my inbox for a good while. Unless it got filtered to my junk mail folder by accident... I dunno.

Well, I hold the Shift key then hit the letter I want. That's the easiest way to do it, unless you want a lot of capital letters (in that case, use Caps Lock)

IIRC you need the .wav named
exactly the same as the speech node. So, if your speech node is m01_kellyspeaks_01 the wav file needs to be m01_kellyspeaks_01.wav. I
think the wav might need to go in a specific folder, but I couldn't swear to it.

And we'd love to play your map!

Thanks,
I need all the help I can get. I will try your advice. I' ve played enough of your maps and Endocores too that I feel like I know you guys.
I guess everyone here has helped me in one way or the other just by reading your info or playing your maps.Jimmy Jay,OTB, WELL, everybody.
Sorry you missed the email. It happens, was just bragging on your maps.
The Cap lock doesn't work but I will try the Shift key.
Will try out the wav. to speech again.
Thanks M-V,
hope to see more of your maps too.

M-V, The Shift key works perfectly. As for the voice wavs....Well, okay I didn't notice that they are MP3 not Wav. files. So I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed. But now I know and for anyone else interested, just convert the voice wav. into an MP3 using "Music Match Juke Box". Just open it , click "file", choose "convert files". You will have two sections in one window. The left is were you use the explorer to locate file to convert and right is file to save new format in.
M-V, Thanks again for the quick reply. As for your maps, I will always be a fan, love the weapons too. My favorite is the mini-tank gun, just don't fire it with team members or obstructions near..... (Save Game before using) Yes, I learn every thing the hard way. Well, hope to see more of your work!!! Wish Endocore would make another map too.(hint, hint)
I will send a map in myself after I gain more skill, just don't laugh too hard at me when I do.
Thanks again

I love Endocore's maps as well, but it's hardly likely we shall see one soon. All work for him, plus there are other editors to play with and he is a serious grafix artist. Quite good one too.(with packages like poser)

Okay, I think I have a map ready to send in but I would rather have someone else test it before I send it in. I have tested it but after running through it a couple of times I become blind to the whole thing and kinda set a pattern of what to do next. I guess I should have started a new post but I suppose this will do. Any takers just email me. I know everyone is busy but If you are bored one night maybe you could give it a try. If you do wish to test it just remember its my first so I know its lacking but I want honest feedback so I can improve future maps.
Thanks
