Quartermaster Question

Sorry if this has already been asked. I remember reading on some board a bit back (I think) that if you sold the quartermaster something that eventually he would "find" more of it and have it for sale eventually.
Is this true? SO if you created a campaign and put in say50 rounds of a powerful ammo, but the player sold 1 to the quartermaster, the QM would eventually have more of that for sale? If this is true is there a way to disable it, either in general or make sure a particular item NEVER shows up in the quartermasters inventory list? Thanks

No, this is untrue.
The Quarter Master list is controlled by entries in the campaign.txt file, which the designer must put together, then import into the CAM file. Those are the only items that will appear in the QM list.
One issue that you will find w/the QM, however, is that when you sell him/her something it will loose its Tag Name, so if a player happens to sell a key that you put in Mission X that they can use in Mission X+2 the player will not be able to use the key, even if they buy it back from the QM.
Cheers,
OTB

...and the player would sell a key to a QM... why? Sells for zero money, weighs nothing, unlocks doors, tastes like chicken, etc.

You could accidentally do it. I know it's not something that most player's would do, but it
could happen, and if it did someone would probably be sending you an email asking you what purpose the such-and-such a key served. This would also hold true of repair parts for vehicles.

Yes, it only happens when a tagged item is sold to the QM, not when it is gambled/sold/planted to/on someone else.

Yes, limiting what players get has been a hot topic around here from time-to-time.
