I know it would be announced if Interplay had released the info but when is Iplay going to announce the super secrete Van Buren game? It's painfully obviouse what it is.

When do you think Fallout 3 will be released? I say some time late 2006 maybe 2005 depending on how much they have done now. Chances are once they release the game they will have a decent amount of work done on it, I hope so at least.

Interplay have basiclly announced that VB is Fallout 3 and if you think otherwise then your a Dumbass

No, they haven't announced a damn thing. We do know it's Fallout 3, but it hasn't officially been announced, which is a significant difference, believe you me.

Of course, that;s my point. We already know it's Fallout 3 so what are they waiting for to announce it.

They are waiting because announcing a game means they are going to finish it.

They will announce the game when they believe they can pull it off (Although with the current state of IPLY I wouldn't believe what they believe).

On topic, I don't think they want to officially anounce anything until they're sure they have something to show, like Dan said. Late 05/06 is a good estimate.

That's what I'm thinking. They probably want some good art work and maybe even some screen shots.

Something that would be cool to is if they released a mini novel building up to the story of the game (yea right! I know, but you can alway hope) or at least a good amount of info on the FO3 story and maybe a time line (Not the typical 2 sentence story) and then let the fans creat some "fan fiction" geared torwards the story of the game.

Fan fiction is a dying art..There are few if any original storylines going on.

I think the best Fan Fic thing I've ever read was about FO:T...The guy sitting in a vault listening to a radio, hearing all about what's going on outside (FO:T related)...Turns out it was like one of those Orson Wells type radio broadcasts...So FO:T didn't really happen..It was just a story heard on the radio.

That one killed me..

Little off topic but I don't think I should make a seperate thread for it.

I was playing through Half-life today and I noticed something. In the office complex level right before you have to jump to ladder in the elevator shaft, a scientist jumps through a window to get away from a monster. Look at the nameplate on the wall for the office he jumped out of. Dr. Van Buren-experimental physics (I think it was physics). I hope this doesn't mean F3 is going to be an action game...

Van Buren is a relatively common generic made-up name -nobody's copyrighted it-. there's a street named Van Buren near my home.

Yes, announcing a game too early will fck it up... somehow...

It's a Dutch name. I happen to have family with the same name aswell.

The people responsible for the marketing and distribution will decide when to announce the game. No one I know knows when that will be.
