Pip boy screensaver?!

Earlier today (read: ten minutes ago) I was letting the party rest for a day in Vault City, and left the game doing that while I made more coffee. I can't play anything without an adequate supply of coffee... ah, the drawbacks of addiction... so when I need more I usually save the game, brew coffee, and then continue to play. This one time I left the pipboy running instead, and when I returned to the computer I discovered it had started up the screensaver. On the pipboy. Not a very advanced one, granted, but I thought it was funny none the less.

A screensaver on the palmpilot my character uses throughout the game... Is that what they call "attention to detail"?

You can even D/L that screen saver for use on your computer! What fun.

If you let it run for a while, a firmiliar face shows up!

http://www.interplay.com/fallout/demo.html

It's under the demos section, and apparently only for Win 95, but it should work.

You can get it in a site called DAC.

I can't seem to download it from there right now, but I did at some point because I'm using it.

Speaking of screen savers... how do you edit them? or at least how do you make a screen saver?

I don't know whether there are any apps out there that can point 'n' click generate one for you, but the way you'd traditionally do it is to program one using the specialised screen saver functions in the Windows API. I've only briefly skimmed through that section of the API, and it was long ago at that, so I can't recall any specific details right now.

edit: so basically you end up with a DLL given a .SCR extension, IIRC
