What kind of weapons do you like best?

Post by PaladinHeart »

Yet another poll, since I like to see different opinions. Which type of weapon do you think is the coolest? I know its nice to cover all the areas, but if you could just have one, or have more of it, then which would it be?

Blegh, my poll vanished.. oh well. Feedback anyone?

Which weapon type do you like best?

That's ok forget the graphic poll, I like shotguns but for a Fallouty atmosphere you need lots of home-made guns or pipe bombs.

Agreed, I already have one faction that has a complete inventory of home-made weapons for their use.

In fact, most of the weapons in my campaign will be completely made up. The only exceptions being for special encounters or traditional Fallout weapons.

I'm partial to revolvers in real life and the game. Shot guns are a bit overpowered, but I like them for close up work since long range gunfights bore me. Also like flamers for the 'burning man daance' thing.

I DONT like energy weapons. Too sci fi for me, don't like power armor either. Game should have been low tech or high tech, hard to successfully fit all into one campaign if you ask me.

Pistols, shotguns, sniper and most of thrown(grenades, spears etc). In FoT I don't like at all melee ones.

All sorts of melee weapons, simple redneck shotguns, a unique revolver with the handle carved out of a radscorpion chitin-plate, and a silly, toy-like looking prototype energy rifle with really little ammo...

Hmm, my most favorite weapons. Most of em are of my own creation:

Magnum 55 - Five-shot revolver, 14x30mm. Accurate, does damage like a gauss pistol, needs alot of strength.

Personal Minigun - Straps on to the forearm, 3-barrel, fires 5x35mm PDW bullets. Automatically fires 20 shot burst (or a 40, there's a control knob). Aimed by a laser sight (as in, paints a red dot wherever you point the weapon).
You can shoot it either one-handed or two, but it loses it's value as an assault / shock weapon if you have to brace. It's meant to be used in a sweeping motion in conjunciton with active spinning (ie, circle-strafing, as old-school FPS gamers would call it).

Disrupter Pistol - High-techy weapon, acts like the Alien Blaster from Fo1 but has longer range and feeds off an internal cold-fusion cell (ie, practically infinite ammo). When it hits, it has an effect kinda like the Disintegrate spell from D&D (ie, it's like a phazer set on level 10)

Needler Assault Rifle - Shoots itty-bitty armor piercing bullets really fast over short bursts. Semi-automatic, each trigger squeeze fires a 5 shot burst (@ 4000 rounds / min). Essentially, it's a G11 on steroids.

...I gots some favored melee weapons too:

Horrid Claws - Gauntlet with *sturdy* razor-sharp claws extending from the fingers. Like freddy's claws, except of more robust construction and slightly shorter blades. That way, not only can I hit like a deathclaw, I can make it hurt the same way too.

Hatchet Pick - Take an axe handle and put a sharpened spearhead on it instead of an axe blade. Penetrates low-grade armor pretty easily.
