'ToEE's other major shortcoming is that its storytelling is somewhat lacking. (...) You occasionally talk with creatures you encounter in the temple, but it's rare and the story seems to progress pretty much the same way no matter what you do. (...) It's not as minimal as Diablo or Dungeon Siege, but it's definitely short of other RPGs like Baldur's Gate or Morrowind.' (gamespy)
damn, big disappointment for me. I counted on ToEE in this respect what do you guys think about it?
I sat a couple of hours yesterday and I'm slowly biginning to like it, but I'm only at the Moat house. Damn, that viper looked good! Battles are almost as tedious as pnp.
Conversation seems a bit lacking yes, but I don't think it was meant to be another PT or something.
The most annoying to me so far are those messenger boy "quests".
shit, and there are newer toee threads to spam, i'm pretty sure i made one in Q2 '06. massive failure.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.
Anyways the game was really buggy and had poor performance for me. I also took it upon myself to learn all the nook and crannies of the character system. God I hate DnD.
remake of da original TOEE module for advanced dungeons & dragons, circa 1970.
