I just...ahem..."purchased" 3D Studio Max and I am totally clueless about it. Can anyone give me some links to some really good tutorials for 3DS MAX?

What version MAX? I have the latest version 5.0, and it comes with tons of tutorials built in. I also have versions 2.5, 3.0, and 4.0, and I might be able to get the tutorials out of those if you want me to send them to you.
Additionally, there are some good tutorials
HERE, but you have to pay attention to which version the tutorials are for. Also, you can get some nice 3ds meshes and textures and other things.
But yeah, tutorials are pretty much required if you want to get good at 3d studio... lots and lots of tutorials

I bet it's one of those progs where you do a tutorial, and then 3 months later you truely understand how to use the commands that the tut used in your own way.
At least with max, you can make almost anything.

Tutorials teach you the techniques you need to make more advanced things. Honestly, MAX isn't very intuitive, unless you're making boxes and teapots

Yea, but I bet that once you understand all the different things you can do, commands if you will, you would understand how to truely wield them in your own way.
Mah, atleast that's how it was when I learned Rhino, not like I'm super at it, but I don't suck all out anymore.

or unless you work hard at it. you want to get a program that is not intuitive, get Cinema 4d.
