Pick up a bat. Lie on the ground on your back. Smash the bat into your forehead.

It postpones the agony for another couple of hours.

Hidrating liquids like soft drinks, painkillers and a small amount of a alcohoolic beverage. Coffee helps a little too.

Soft drinks dehydrate. They contain sodium.

You are better off drinking alot of gatorade and/or water.

Water and gatorade. Hangover is caused by a dehydration or something along the same lines.

I never had much of a hangover before. The only cure is thinking ahead. For me it's eating stuff with bread while drinking. It soaks up the alcohol.

step 1. after binge drinking consume a kebab, this will line your stomach reducing sickness and hangover the next day or it will make you chuck up and get rid of a lot of the alcohol. Win win.

step 2. the next morning drink shitloads of IrnBru and have a big fry up

step 3 commence drinking again.

So what exactly causes a hangover? Does it dehydrate you and that is what causes it or is it the actual achohol in you blood?

I have been severly dehydrated before but it made me nauseus and sick feeling. When I hear hangover it sounds like a bad headache to me?

dehydration causes your brain to shrink giving you the really bad headache, it also makes your lips get all cracked and sore and your palms dry up and feel shite.

the sickness etc. is also caused by dehydration but is also a result of your body trying to get out as much of the alcohol as it can + it screws up your stomach lining.

Two simple facts you must know about hangover:

1) When / how heavy hangover will you get depends on the amount of alcohol consumed. Of course it differs between different people, because of our different builds, but in your case the only way to avoid getting a hangover is to drink less. The rough limit of avoiding it is to keep your "drunkness level" below 1 o/oo.

2) If you still do get a hangover, the best ways to lighten it down are resting and drinking lots of water. No magic shampoos or pills will help you, nor does a hangover drink, they'll usually give you a moment of satisfaction and then hit with even worse hangover.

Smoking cigarettes along with your drinking binge also amplifies your hangover. Just so you know. :P

You must not be doing it right then.

And iohkus, if you have a hangover, then it's already too late for the charcoal trick.

Drink some coffee and take some pills. Be sure to take a shower.

Alternatively, you could just take some Chaser before getting drunk!

Heard about that stuff, apparently it does work. If you can get your hands on one of those "Hansen's" drinks, they actually make one specifically formulated to deal with hangovers.

While we are endorsing stuff learn about them here:
http://www.bevnet.com/reviews/hansens_functionals/

The Anti-Ox drink is the one designed to help you deal with the free-radicals that abusing your liver with the aid of high octane drinkage will produce. Tastes pretty good too. Drink one of these, lots of water and Gatorade and maybe have some crackers to help your stomach settle down a bit.

Let me clarify, at the point you have a hangover the alcohol has pretty much done its thing, what makes you miserable is all the crap that it did to your metabolism as your body tried to brake it down. So by this time you are waaaay past the "premptive" stage, we are running damage control and repair. The crackers now are not meant to soak up alcohol, but to soak up excess acid in your stomach and provide your intestines with something to do while you also get non-diauretics in to re-hydrate.

Coffee's bad as well, it's also dehydrating, it's only the caffeine which might be usefull. As said before: drink loads of water, take a rest and take painkillers ;)
