In-game moive recorder?
I've seen various avatars showing clips from movies and games. How do you do it? Is there some kind of software you can download? If so where?
i know me and some people tried using software to capture video and ended up getting shitty recording frames / second and big ass files on our HD. to capture ingame video or anything off your pc you need to export your video card signal to a VCR / Digital Camcorder / Editing Deck
you'd need a decent video card that has TV-Out
hardware capturing is the only way
and good PC software to edit video with is adobe premiere
ktxhbey.

There is vid capture software out there but it costs. A few games use proprietary formats like bink so it should be a matter of getting the coverter and then transferring it to mpeg and then converting it to animated gif, etc. A lot of trouble but if you have time and have ritalin on hand, you should be able to do it.
Camtasia Studios has some tools as does something called Techsmith. Don' t know if they work properly but I know they give out a 14 day trial.
Otherwise the proposition of Iokhus ain' t that bad, despite the cost and time necessary to achieve it.

Yay, the video card, the cord, the VCR and the tape are free?Franz_Schubert wrote:There's no cost for iohkus's way... You just need the video card, the cord to the TV (you should have one, if not they're cheap), and the VCR + a blank tape. Of course, if you want to edit it digitally, you need to take some extra steps
