It plays similar to the classic Wasteland but with nicer high-resolution graphics.

Hi all,
right now im working on a CRPG/TradeSim called Badlands:ZoneTripper. Its nothing official yet, but i would like your comment on this. Alot of the game works right now, but there is some things that don´t. The world is the same as "Badlands"(My old game, still working on that too). Its the old post-war Europeand the player starts out in whats left of northen Germany/Polen, and tries to survive by trading or killing. Its kinda mix of old Elite and Wasteland, you will see what i mean. Right now im working on the questpart, and of course all the freaking graphics. The player will be able to save his/her character online. This game is nothing official yet, but i really want your feedback on the issue.

Check out Zonetripper and tell Gobias what you think.

I died alot when I first started out

3 ninja ghouls weakass 15 HP shouldn't be a problem - oh they are!

3 weak ass lizards - ah this should be easy, and no if you don't hit and they do...

I started surviving in the game, mostly by running away from bitch ass enemies - but I ended up just killing weak shit that costed me more in ammo and health then I got - so dunno - it feels pretty damn hard.

Yet fun of course, thats why I've been playing it trying to get more cash then I spend, need to get those heavy weapons soon.

Yupp,
its hard as aaaa right now. But it will change, of course. Will be diffrent baddies in different areas. And if the player levels, some of the baddies will(not all but some). And especially difficult now, when there isnt any new guns to buy or heavy armor. That will change as well.

I will try to come up with an website soon, so that all Q:s gets an A.

Have a nice day!

at least you guys didn't get an mutants :( and Junklords, WTF .. 55 hp? heh if you work on the interface a little more. make some 2d graphics that the player can toy with. this could be as much fun as escape velocity nova.
The answer to your first question is shaddup.

I'd play that. If you care to know. Seems cool enough.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

Yepp,
its two threads now. Because i actually didnt want the game to hit "first page" on DAC, i just wanted the nice fellow in the forum to "find it". But the people here at DAC-Forum is very effective, so they found it and now there is two threads. :) But im very happy for the frontpage aswell, because i have got alot of good input from you guys. Thanx!

No prob for me to join the two. :)

One other thing:
My bandwith is soon up, i only got 1000mb right now, so before i fix more mb the beta will be exchanged to an ordinary info-site. This will happen on monday.

pretty awesome, although the text on the left side when you enter a city is a bit small. Not everybody is running at 1024x768 or lower res. Most people run at a higher res these days. ;)

PS - this isn't related in any way to the mod that Kruddman, formerly of Wasteland Half-Life - started up about a year or so ago is it?

I run at 1152x864.

perhaps you should buy yourself a bigger VDU if you want hi res.

about zonetripper: it looks damn neat, but before I see some dialogues and quests it is just boring (the potential being obvious). And some NPC portraits for the dialogues, please - they add a lot to the atmosphere.

if the game ran right at my comp, you can only trip here and there, fight, and enter towns, where there is actually nothing to do? After I killed some lizards I thought I'd be able to sell lizard skins and buy sth else instead, but heck - no way.

Well yes of course. But if you happened to read, I said most people run at higher res these days. So basically the font size he used is extremely small on a higher resolution.

That is of course what you would have understood if you actually read what I posted.

I read what you wrote, I always do if I answer.

It seems I'm a lil bit misunderstood.

I understand that you (like most people these days) run a high res.
I understand that some particular font(s) from the game concerned is very small on your screen.

If a font, say, e.g. Arial size 10, is too small at res 1600x1200 on a VDU size 15",
the same font Arial 10 at res 1600x1200 will look much bigger on a VDU size 19", not to mention 20" and above.
It is essential to adjust resolution to the size of your VDU.

I hope I'm clear now because this conversation (not you) is pretty dumb actually, at least for my part.
cheers.
