This is half inspired by Nightmare Before Christmas, and half inspired by someone's avatar..I can't remember whose at the moment, and I'm too lazy to look for it.

Franz-Schrubert's?
That's fucking awesome. I really like it.
It's simple and it looks great.

Franz-Schrubert's?
That's the one...
I had a good time drawing this..Started off as just a dude, but I screwed up the eye and decided to make it into a skull...
I didn't notice a NBC similarity until the girl next to me said "Hey, that's Jack Skeleton!"...I kindly explained that it was "Skellington", and after she stopped crying, she asked if she could have it. I obviously told her no.

nice work
love the smoke - even if I've seen it before, still very classy.
a tip would be to always carry white clear papers with you, to avoid those crude bluelines.

Ahhhhh man, that stuff is so amazing.
I like them all very much, especially the second one. It just seems so 3-D. Like he's about to pop out of the page and punch me in the face for not being as cool as him. His left hand is black and white. That's too cool.

Nice picture, Ryno, like the shading around the skull. Reminds me of the other day, when I saw some douche-goth in all black wearing a beanie with a giant picture of Jack Skellington on it...he looked retarded.
Franz-Nice pics, though the last one looks like he's holding a giant cigarette backwards. The funny thing is in all those pictures they'ree hands are in a position that could easily hold a cigarette OMG.

Actually, I like the blue lines..Shows it's a doodle and not something I spent a lot of time on. Makes people wonder what I'm capable of if I put my mind to it.

I dont even think its cool or stylish. Just looks arrogant.
Edit: Nice drawing though, very Jack Skellington indeed.

Smoking was cool like thirty years ago, but it's not very stylish now. Like Mandalorian said, it's arrogant. You're just shitting yourself.

I think it's cool, but only if you're a lonely detective in the rain or something.
I don't really mind, I like the smell and the shapes the smoke makes too? Bizarro.

Smoking is a pleasure, who cares about cooliness.

When I lit my first cigarette 10 years ago, it was because I wanted to see if I would instantly die and get sick like the commercials on TV implied. I didn't die, and after vomiting, I smoked some more.
I don't think it's cool. I don't think it's classy (except old photos/art). I just think it's smoking. And smoking is something to do to keep myself busy so I don't say what I'm really thinking to people.
Smokers who say they're addicted are just pussies. It's not difficult to quit, it's just boring. Smoking is indeed a habit. I've got the habit of going to class 15 minutes early so I can have a cigarette and socialize.
When I quit, I still end up going to class early, and I'm bored out of my mind. I've tested the theory..I quit for a few weeks. I quit for q few months..I've even quit for over a year. But then I figure "Eh" and go get a pack. Nothing better to do, just like being here on DAC.

Franz Schubert, you seem like you have a Tamara de Lempicka fetish. She had an impressive deco style but her actual drawing skils wern't the best.

Art in my opinion is more about style than technical skills anyway, and she had style coming out the Wazoo. Here's a self-portrait from 1925. Note the flapper-hat.
Anyway, you're right about the fetish; I'd do her.
EDIT: Sorry to hijack your thread btw Ryno. Actually I like the blue lines in that picture also. I'd say they add character somehow.

Deco? I tought it was Retro.

very deco - now in theory that can be retro as well.
Anyway smoking is pretty cool visually, and can be soft and mellow to do - the action is not though, and is more in the lines of dull and wacked - habits and addiction lacks some of that sharpedge.
As for quiting smoking one should not consider it easy for everyone, but escaping if one does not - calling those wusses. The counter-reaction from stopping can be in cases so hard for the body that doctors will recommend one to go back to smoking again.

I actually like her art and have a book of most of her well known pieces. It is cool and very reflective of its time with its slight cubist influence. She definitely took the style almost directly from Leger and added a little more realism to be able to get her rich benefactors interested.
