Good news #1: Well, my inspiration for FOT mapping-related activities seems to have resurfaced somewhat.

Good news #2: I bought a new car the other day!

Bad news #1: My work-in-progress, Revenge, tires me to no end. I'll release a finalized Revenge 3, and that's about it. For the time being, at least.

Bad news #2: My BOS.exe file seems to have mysteriously vanished off of my hard drive. Reinstalling FOT is the last thing I want to do (talk about an inspiration killer), so if anyone knows one of two things: A) If this 1.27 patcher program "creates" a BOS.exe I can use, or B) If someone can email me the patched 1.27 BOS.exe. Or if there's a third option I'm unaware of?

Odd thing is that my FT Tools.exe is fine. As well as everything else in FOT land.

That's good to hear. Some of were wondering if your had died of that broken heart. :confused2:

Er...congradulations. I guess.

Are we talking a new car, or just one that's new to you?

Well, if nothing else you're still the most prolific of Map Rats to date. :)

I have no idea if patching will do the job, but be aware that it's a 5.09 meg (or so) file, so emailing it will be a bit tedious for one of us dial-up dildos.

Try patching it, if that doesn't work, let me know and I'll email it to you, although it will have to wait a few days since I'm going to be moving over the next few days.

Cheers,

OTB

Damn close, OTB, damn close.
OTB wrote:Are we talking a new car, or just one that's new to you?
We're talking a 2004 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport, that's what!
OTB wrote:Well, if nothing else you're still the most prolific of Map Rats to date. :)
Bleh. Not nearly the amount of emails that I should be getting I get. Get it?

Holy Christ in a sidecar, 5 megs? There goes that idea. I was hoping 2 or so. Hotmail... probably won't like me very much after that. Assuming the thing gets through in the first place... O how I want a "normal" email address...

I'm about to try the patcher. Wish me luck!

BTW, if anyone was wondering, I've been absent due to three things: The broken heart OTB referred to, my complete lack of giving a shit, and Final Fantasy XI. Surprisingly enough, all three counted equally...

Edit: Well, repatching the game seems to have done the trick. Only downer is that I now need to have a CD in my CDROM drive in order to start the game up. Before this happened, I didn't need to have a CD in there. Don't ask me how :confused2:

Nah, those things won't kill you. You may want to die as a result of one, but only in fairy tales do they actually kill people. (Although some people will behave self-destructively thanks to one that an argument could be made that it was...er...never mind.)
MV wrote:We're talking a 2004 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport, that's what!
Ugh! Say hello to full coverage and all that. It's why I've never bought a new car and always pay in full when I get one.

But since it's what you want, who am I to say you nay?
MV wrote:Bleh. Not nearly the amount of emails that I should be getting I get. Get it?
I don't think any of us get much feedback other than from each other. I've gotten emails expressing anticipation for IOOI and/or FoT: Redux, but I could count on my thumbs the number of emails I've gotten from people not involved w/us in one capacity or another.

Oh well, I guess that's why it's best to make maps that you enjoy playing and count anyone else enjoying it as gravy.

Yes, a clear cut case of "Jesus wept!" for those of you that use HotMail. (I'd forgotten about that, actually.) I don't think WinRAR could compress it enough to slide it in under HotMail's limit. (It's 1 meg, right?)

I, James "The God" Mason, wish you luck.

Good to see you have your priorities straight, young man!

No forkin' idear. 'Puters are very strange. I had a system that you could shut down the SysTray on and it wouldn't phase it one bit. Very braziere...

Good to hear you're back in business.

Awaken seems to have replaced my bos.exe file (I accidently let it overwrite it I think). And my FOT still starts up find w/o a CD. You might check that out. Im usually more careful when I install mods but I just seemed to miss the bos.exe files for some reason.

I think there is a nocd fix out there for FOT somewhere. Not sure where you could get it, but I have that. Needing the CD is annoying since FOT is pretty much something you'll need to run a lot (as opposed to games you'll install, win on, and then uninstall).

Its funny how game companies do stuff like that, which punishes consumers more than it would ever hurt the pirating industry. I even have two copies of Fallout Tactics (got one with a bundle on eBay, and decided to keep it since it was worthless). Plus you never know when your FOT might break or something.

You forgot bad news #3 new car = more bills. I think OTB already mentioned that though.

Gotta get that no CD patch thingy...

Gotta get a girlfriend...

My monthly car payment isn't too bad. It's about 1/3 that of a typical rent payment in my area. Insurance, however... It be worth it, though, it definately be worth it!

*sigh* Now if only I could muster up the inclination to go back to work on Revenge3 instead of my new map. *sigh* If only...

MV if you still have problems, try doing do a minimal install, since no doubt you've already got everything unpacked. It's only the patch that installs unpacked files.

Just release Revenge 3, update your web page, and work on your new map. You can always release an updated version later. :)

Hmm.. I just noticed I still have the nocd patch thingy. Anyone want it? I already sent it to MV.

Yeah, I could do that. I don't like leaving things unfinished, but looking at that damn map makes me wanna hurl.

Oh, and I'll update my site at some point. I have no idea what tilepacks/spritepacks/whateverelsepacks I need to post and which I already have posted. There just so many of them...

Hmm.. so that's how you italize stuff. I'd get pretty tired of typing that every time I wanted to italicize something. Might come in handy but I do so like to use THIS when I want to stress a word in such a fashion :)

Oh, anyway. You might could just swipe them all off, and then upload a compiled version. Most people will want more than one anyways methinks. And it'd be easier on you when you want to update it. Everything in a zip. Clever eh? :)
