Overdone Ghoul

I noticed the figure drawing guide that jj posted around 2am last night, and while skimming through it I noticed a pose that reminded me of a ghoul. Then I started drawing. Eventually the form was done, and I saved and closed the origional. Stupid flash (call me screwy but I do a lot of drawings in there) cut off its feet. I moved it a little to make it look like it was supposed to be like that, and then I started adding color. Theres where it all went wrong. I didnt think they looked right, and I wanted them to bleed a little more. So I opened up photoshop. Ten minutes of trying various ways to fix that, I made it how I liked, and saved over the original. Big mistake. Within a minute I hated it. So then, with the boarders all screwy, I applied dozens of filters and color changes to make the picture you see. Its like at night, or something.

Not too bad, good use of filters.

Looks good, nice texturing in particular, but ugh, he kinda looks like he's flexing for the Mr. Universe competition.

Hm. He kind of does, and it doesnt help that I drew the upper body pretty big. In fact, I just noticed that the arms are thicker then the legs.

That's the uh...beauty of ghouls. They're constantly rotting, so let's just say his legs are rotting faster than his arms, yes?
Looks really cool, though. That'd make a pretty neat wallpaper or something if it was bigger.

This is the second picture you've made that involves a cock for no reason. Trying to tell us something?
As for the ghoulie: I like the implied action, though it's a little heavy on the night vision green...suppose it's SUPPOSED to be heavy on that color, but it always makes me think of Mountain Dew.

I have a thing for drawing cocks. The simplicity speaks to me, so I would expect a few more loosely related cock pictures in the future.
Besides, I cant draw a minigun.

the horizontal lines feels out of place, like you were designing a webpage back in 1999 (probably 97, but anyway).
I like the form, but dunno if I like the old OS colours presented.
I give it XX out of XXXXX - amature Xrosses.
- And woo the forum slowed down

Like I said, I screwed the colors accidentally, so I tried something that didnt require many. Its supposed to look crappy, I was going for an old security camera with a night lens type look.
Thanks for the input though. I have some more colorful pictures of this guy that I might post later.

yeah you did - still the straight lines feels less security camera then they should - perhaps a blur and noise effect added to them would do wonders to give it that kind of feel.
...and even stuff that is supposed to look crappy in the end should still be made in some way- as for art one shouldn't connect that with aesthetic looks in the first place so.
and... well that cloud filter... from eyecandy? anyway looks like the eyecandy one and *shrugs* I really hate that cloud filter...
still pretty neat zombie, and besides the extreme green (some more saturation perhaps) the only disslikes are the lines drawn over the picture, and the clouds in the background.
Still you get XXXX for effort, if anything learning the filters is good, so in the end you learn when not to use them

You really don't need to dig up old thread just to answer with one-liners. PM the artist if you care that much.
