Cats

Post by Wolfman Walt »

Hmm I was just wondering something, when did house cats go extinct according to FO2?

Before the war, I think. Don't let FOBOS fool you.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

They didn't die out before the war because that one lady told you a story about her cat in FO2. Personally I don't think all the cats are gone, the game makers just got lazy, or didn't have enough time. There's gotta be cats around somewhere, maybe not domesticated, but cats are rather resilient critters.

Thats when I was trying to figure it out cause that threw me for a loop, until I remembered that the writers & designers were all coke addict morons who didn't know Jack and or shit. Was wondering that for the impending review.

Couple of quick questions:

Are the Cats Paw magazines pre-war products? And the lady running the harem had never heard of the magazines. This leads me to believe that the actual harem was in place before the war, with the name and everything. Or am I way wrong?

She explained it in the game, the Cat's Paw in FO2 was a publishing house or some such thing and that they produced The Cat's Paw, then after the war it got turned into the whore house we all know and love and use to get our freinds laid.

Uh, the legs/hands of kittens?
But it is as airsoft guy said... It was an old publishing house and the whores simply took over the place after the apocalypse and thought the sign "Cats Pawn" sounded kinda cool and stuff.

Did I say before the war? I meant in the war. As MCA said, "like, pretty much everything died, 'cept like insects and dawgs," so that's pretty much proof that cats died out quickly after the bombs fell.

According to the lady in The Den, they either died out on their own, or were eaten. Still, I think that cats would most likey exist somewhere.

Demosticated cats wuold have been easy pickings for the starving population after the bombs dropped, feral cats on the otherhand would be impossible to make extinct. Cats when introduced into an invorment outside their own quickly become a dominent small preditor. New Zealand (and Australia to an extent) is a perfect example of this. When my Uncle moved to a new farm the place was over run with cats, and even after shooting lots there were always wild cats around. The only way they would be extinct was if a plague killed them off like in the planet of the apes. There have been lots of times when an animal though extinct later poped up somewhere. Besides the damn things breed like rabits. Needless to say Im more of a dog person

Well dogs survived, so I'd assume cats would, just as easily. Thuron's statement about not knowing what a cat's "paw" is has me wondering about him. I suggest you try www.dictionary.com

I always thought cats could endure in places where dogs just died away? So if there are wild dogs, there should be wild cats as well. Though I guess they aren't much of a threat to a Post-Apocalyptic hero, so maybe that's why they weren't implemented in the game?

That coupled with the fact that they would serve no purpose. The average "house" cat sized cat wouldn't offer much of a threat, and would probably run from a human, as opposed to rabid dogs/wolves would be much more eager to take on that fight. A cross of unfeasable gameplay and lazy developers? Who knows. I'd say "Ask Interplay!" but they're all fired or quit.

I think the person asking about "The Cats Paws" was talking about what it meant for the game, not what it meant literally....

I think...

If that's the case, then The Cats Paw is a magazine in FO2 that you collect for a prize..Can't remember what the prize is, or where to do it..I just remember you are supposed to collect 10.
