Yet another post apoc movie.

Post by Simlife »

And this one is called "The Day After Tomorrow", I have no idea if it's great or not. Its done by the same bloke who directed Independance Day so we can expect big bangs and some nice special effects.

The movie is about a cataclysmic climate change and some bloke called Jack trying to get the prez of the USA to evacuate the country.

Go to www.thedayaftertomorrow.com for more info.

The excitement begins on May 28th 2004.

Yes, we know about this already, it was posted a while ago. Do some searching next time, maybe?

I think I heard the name somewhere, and I've got a good feeling associated with it.

Or maybe not.

Haven't heard of this one but there just a few end of the world movies on the SCi-Fi channel last week that sounded like they were about the same thing. One was an ice-age and people trying to survive in LA and the other was a big solar flare that turned everything into a big bar-b-q. These kind of movies are kinda boring.

These were typical disaster movies, Mad Max was different and unique. I can honestly think of no other movie that was like Mad Max.

You still didn't answer my question :)
Boring like no other movie?

Seriously though, there are quite a few good disaster movies out there as well... The whole setup was just being anal-penetrated during the 80's and an offspring of pathetic little disaster movies sprang out.

i find post apoc movies and books that revolve around the world being destroyed by meteors/solar flares/useless space occurance here are boring to a point of making me sleep.

The movie trailer doesn't look so bad , it doesn't seems to be one of those short budget movies , maybe they will do something different with this one.

Now that I think about it, I'd say that Mad Max was actually better for it's low budget. It added extra "grit" to it and the un-polished look added to the atmosphere. I can't think of any other movie like that.

I prefer movies that are unique and show something new regardless of their budget. Formula movies bore me because when I have seen one and another "clone" opens at the theater it feels like I'm rewatching the first one. Its like John Waters movies, they are bad on many levels but the very different view is so cool that it makes up for its badness.

Typicly, I have absolutely no opinion on a movie until it's released or has the word "Super" or "Ice Cream" in the title.

Typicaly, people care nothing of my opinions, so it's all good.
Endure. In enduring, grow strong.
