Halo...
Halo...
SUre, there are tons of games out there today that I can't hear enough of...(HUHHUH)
Jedi Academy-crap
Neverwinter Nights:39483498th Expansion-Crap
Manhunt-uhhh..
Vice City-Redundant, Repetitive crap
But Halo is one of those MUST PLAY NOW NOW NOW!!! games that I haven't played yet. All I hear about the game is that it's a gift from the heavenly gods of good and joy, and that anyone who doesn't like it should burn like PECO THE DONKEY.
SO, does it even compare to Bungie's masterpiece Myth: The Fallen Lords?
Is it REALLY the last word in FPS's?
Does it beat Half-Life?
Tell me please, and though me other unenlightened can learn the truth as well.

Endure. In enduring, grow strong.
Vice City is beautiful, and one of the best games I have ever played. Great gameplay, music, voice acting, and ludicrous, excessive style add up to make this game pwn.
But the rest of the stuff you mentioned all sucks.

suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.
I agree with your sentiments regarding VC's Voice acting, and style. Maybe I played GTA3 WAY too much, and got bored more easily with VC than one inexperienced with it.atoga wrote:Vice City is beautiful, and one of the best games I have ever played. given my scale of rating first-person shooters i say halo is smack in the middle. it's okay but not great, fun if you have nothing else to do.
just get call of duty instead, nothing beats whacking ze germans around for a few hours.

Myth3 was developped by Wolfpack studios or something, not Bungie. Bungie went to shit since they were bought by MS.Franz_Schubert wrote:Myth was great. Myth II was even greater. But Myth III was basically the same thing as Myth II, except with worse graphics.
The tree Marathon games were, IMNHO, the best FPS. Myth 1 and 2 were masterpieces, with a revolutionning multiplayer.
You can even notice : The beginning of Halo is very fun, and then it gets the same and gets boring. Actually it gets shit at like the 1/3 of the game.
MS bought Bungie at the 1/3 of Halo developpment.
I'm sure it's go nothing to do but w/e.

Halo is pretty fun FPS, for a console game. Its single player can get boring fast, but with a friend for coop, or a group for multiplayer, it can be a lot of fun. Still, it doesnt come anywhere near Half-Life. With the all the mods floating around like The Specialists, Wasteland beta 1, and Sven for HL, the game has given a ton of replay value for me and my friends, especially at lan parties.
Vice City is what GTA3 should have been. GTA3 is a poor shell of a game when the two are compared, although I cant help but get slightly bored with vice city because the engine is the same, and many of the cars are similar. Motorcycles are an awesome addition though. Ive been waiting for those to come back to the grand theft auto games ever since the superbike in GTA.

I haven't tried the multiplayer part, but single player for PC sucks (only tested the trial though)! Almost as disappointing as the Deus Ex: Invisible War demo (okay, that was taking it too far).

i enjoyed halo on the xbox, i think i replayed it about 4 or 5 times on each difficulty level. by far the most enjoyable experiance is on legendary.
i sold the xbox after i completed it.
i agree its shite on the pc, but then most crossovers are.
true its a mindless fps, but sometimes thats whats so good about it. plus what games do actually do anything good for your head anyway? fuck it i say, halo is good.

2) Nope, not the last word. It gets in a nice comment.
3) Not since Deus Ex has there been a game that beats half-life.
I enjoyed halo, but one word comes to mind when people call it anything more than just a fun FPS - Overrated.
