Don't know if anyone's seen this...But this guy emailed me through my website to advertise his...I'm not sure if he believes this, or if this is a joke page.

lol wow this shit is hot.

Using Dune as the backstory for the bible and illustrating with Geiger, throw in egyptology, roman mythology and the loch ness monster for good measure. This is more whacked out than alex chiu, I love it.

That alien (I think it's an alien) looks very firmiliar...

Pretty cool stuff, I like wierd pictures like that. Especially the darker ones (dark as in mood, not as in brightness).

Recollection my ass. What a crazy, if he re-reads the Dune series then he would notice indirect and direct references to several of our religions, Judaism especially. Hell, if you read some of the newest Dune books, I believe they even talk about Earth. The series was clearly placed in an extremely far off future.

That alien probably reminds you of an alien because Geiger did alot of work/was alot inspiration (or something) on the original alien films? If you look at more Geigers work you'll see it reproduced hundreds of times in interesting ways. My friend did a report on Geiger that was interesting.

Mention it? Hell, they nuke the shit out of it. Floating around out there is a timeline from the Dune Encyclopedia that shows where the Dune universe is in relation to the real world. I really hope this is a big, elaborate joke, or else this guy is an asshate supreme.

Haha he uses Dune as the backstory for the bible? Dune uses the Bible as backstory. The OCB, Orange Catholic Bible, is a conglomeration of all of the major religions, pseudoreligions, philosophy-religions, et cetera of earth put down the guns and knives and bombs and books and came to a table and created a universal religion to encompass the best of all of them into one.

Dune was clearly stated to be a future world beyond earth, which was destroyed and lost, presumably in the Butlerian Jihad, of which the final book will be out in... four months? I dunno. Something like that.

I couldn't read that website. It made random points and had random information, from quoting the Book of Job to statistics about energy usage in the U.S. and use of the Strategic Oil Reserve. Maybe when I'm less tired I'll take another crack at it and find it funny at the very least.

The last of the Butlerian Jihad books comes out in like August or September.

Yeah, thats what I heard. My math was close. April + 4 = May, June, July, August. It's April in my mind, anyways. Makes my math work when it is.

Edit: What do you all think of (for those of you that read and enjoyed Dune) the prequels? So far I think that they've been really cool. They definately cannot compare to Dune, but they don't try to. They have their own authors' styles in it and tell a good story. I always wanted more information on the backstory of the Jihad and the split between Harkonnen and Atreides. This book will finally fill me in on the second part. And the insane nuclear and biological warfare waged across the galaxy.

I like them but they're inconsistent with the originals in places. Certain things people said in the first ones being directly contradicted, also the kind've bizzare fact that anything that was of any importance at all to the Dune universe either apparantly happened right before Dune or during the Butlerian Jihad. Discovering the properties of spice convienently while fighting the machines? Ok. I don't buy it.

Still interesting though. I can't wait, because after they finish this they're making the last book, based on Frank Herbert's notes, to wrap up the cliffhanger at the end of the series.

He actually designed the Alien, and all the other stuff for that film. Alien was like a movie made as a vehicle for his art sorta. Before they signed him on all they knew was that they wanted "an alien" but he not only created it's appearance but function as well. Bizzaro.

I think the reason this guy uses Gieger all over his site is because before Alien, Gieger was signed by Fox (I think it was) to design a Dune movie. The shit fell through, but he did get some stuff made, if you surf the web for his stuff you'll see some things listed with "Harkonnen" in the title, their whole style was going to be Gieger's. You can even buy the "Harkonnen Chair" off Geiger's own site. Just a couple thou. :-O

I can see why he was kicked out of school - he is mad. His web skills aren't too bad though the navigation between points is fucked up, maybe like the thoughts in his brain?

Yea, I knew he was very important to it in some manor. Just wasn't so sure exactly HOW. Although I guess that kinda makes sense since I'm pretty sure like %60 of Geigers famous work has something to do with Aliens.
