Hey all. It's been a while since I posted here, due to the fact that the old webpage went offline and I didn't find this new one until a few days ago.

Anyways, I've been working on this picture for the past couple of weeks, and I thought you guys might be interested.

Image

My scanner is old and crappy, so the picture didn't transfer onto computer as well as I hoped it would. There are a lot of small details that you can't really see on the digital version, but you can still get the general idea of it. Anyways, I'd love to hear any comments or constructive criticism you guys may have. Thanks!

Very, very nice indeed. I like the bent-over telephone pole especially. Take that, Manhattan!

Very nice work rob, good to see you found your way back.

How's Fallen Angel coming along?

:D Thanks! I'm glad you guys like it.

CloudNine, Fallen Angel is coming along quite nicely, and my school year will be over in less than a week, which means I'll have much more time to work on the movie and things will move along much more quickly. The first release shouldn't be too far away...

Anyways, thanks again for the compliments everyone!

Hey esse , love the ruins excelent work mate , the only thing I dont like it's the woma\man ? I would change it's clothes , and maybe it's head.

The girl is actually the main character from the movie I'm working on. I like the clothes the way they are, but I do agree that the head looks a little weird. Unfortunately, I can't do much about it because I've already erased that spot so many times that if I try to redraw her head again I'll risk smearing the lead and messing up the picture. Also, she looks somewhat better on paper because you can make out the details more easily. Her hair actually has a distinct shape, but it just looks like a sort of lopsided circle on the computer. Again, not much I can do about it... :-\

I think the girl looks fine, a little cartoony maybe with the technical style of the rest of the drawing, but if that's your thing than it looks ok.

Yeah, the girl 'hits' my eye too. Maybe it's the fact that if I were a post-apocalyptic survivor I wouldn't wear skin-tight shorts and japanese fetish-boots. Just maybe.

The drawing as a whole is awesome, though. And don't care about the category 'mechanical drawer' ED slammed you in - he's just jealous.

Japanese fetish boots???

Maybe some better pictures of the girl would help clear some confusion.

As you can see, she's just wearing regular boots. And the skin-tight pants are for maneuverability, and to make things more interesting. :P

The girl doesn't stick out as much in the NYC picture when you look at the drawing on paper; for some reason, when I was messing with the contrast settings in Photoshop after scanning the picture, it made the girl a lot darker than she should have been. I'm gonna upload a newer version of the picture in a few minutes, and I'll use a higher resolution in hopes that it will make things look better.

Ah, my bad. On that top-most picture, where the view is from behind her, they look like those stockings+boots thingys. You know, the ones japanese 'school girls' use in porn flicks and such.

Bleh, bad explination. Anyway, the colored (I presume it's the animated version?) stuff looks great. The cartoonish characters + photorealistic backgrounds concept works better on the 'final' version than in the bw-sketches.

That first picture reminds me of Iraq.

Cute

The colored one is indeed animated, its from his preview of Fallen Angel. Kind of a shootout between Sera (chick) and some baddies, pretty awesome.

Haha, I see what you mean about the boots Kashluk. And yes, like CloudNine said, that colored shot is from the movie I'm working on, Fallen Angel (although those shots are from the first episode, not the preview).

the last picture had one really FAT thing in it - the car

honestly though you come off as a raw talent most of the time - and that car really puffed that up alot.

but the clouds and explosions you do are really crude - and yet the potential seems huge, and even more so since seeing that car - cuz hot damn.

I can't wait for the final product.

Thank you. :)

Yeah, I've gotta agree, the clouds in that truck picture aren't too great. I just added them in at the last second because I thought the sky looked too plain. And I assume that the crude explosion you're referring to is the one from that other picture I posted (the girl looking at the mushroom cloud), something I was never very satisfied with either. I like to think I've gotten a lot better at drawing explosion and smoke effects since then; unfortunately, I don't really have a finished picture to show you as an example. I've got an idea for a picture I'm going to do soon, though, which will basically be a detailed shot of a city being incinerated by a nuclear blast. Once I finish it, I'll be sure to post it up here.
