No ordinary gun thread

Post by Kashluk »

This isn't supposed to be one of those boring & real fucking long discussions about the muzzle velocities of different models of Colt 1911 Military Service pistol...

I mean some real nasty buggers: WEIRD & SPECIAL GUNS.

Like this one I just found out about.
Image
It's basically an MP5 Kurz inside a briefcase that can be fired without opening it. Some sort of a James Bond / Terrorist dream firearm.

Then there are tons of walking stick / cane, whatever, guns.
Image
There are cane swords and other stuff on that picture too, but (at least) the left-most one is a firearm.

Got more stuff like this?

Kashluk's name attached to any gun thread concerns me but I guess this one has a chance of not taking a turn for the worse as long as he keeps his politics out of it. Then again I'd not mind seeing a good rousing multi page debate. Too quiet here by far, for my taste.

Well, that's what I think too, so I decided to make it clear from the very first post, that this isn't about how good / bad firearms are or which is the best assault rifle - grenade launcher combination to buy for self defense. This is only about weird things & places were guns have been installed & used.

Found another one myself again:

Apparently it's a foldable revolver. Trying to fool your advesary to thinking you brought a knife to a gun fight and then blasting his balls off, when he least expects it?

That briefcase MP5 is hot shit. As for the guncanes, they've been around for a long time. All this reminds me of Shadowrun (which is filled to the brim with odd guns like this).
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

I've known about the Mp5 case for awhile, I think I have a pic of it in action too (it's pretty cool). I used to have a Sword-cane, but it broke after playing around with it too much.

The suitcase-MP5K in action:

Then there's the purse-version for females (?!) :

If I remember correctly, in the movie Desperado the head honcho, el Mariachi, had two buddies with him. The other one's guitar box was a bazooka and the other one's was a machine gun? So it wasn't exactly a suitcase, but who cares.

Then I found out about this (H&K, again) gun:

Supposedly, it's an underwater pistol with five rounds but no reloading capability. There are rumors it also appears in a movie. They say it's Tomb Raider 2: The Cradle Of Life - is this true?

An underwater pistol with no reloading capability?
That's pretty wacky ._o
Do you just throw it away after firing those 5 rounds?
'must be pretty expensive in the long run.

The briefcase HK also appeared in The Replacement Killers. One of the assassins who's after Chow Yun Fat uses it in the arcade.

In Desperado there were three guitars, one pair with weird guns in them the other with a rocket launcher. That movie makes me laugh.

Well, um, I guess it is... The gun actually *is* reloadable, but you have to send it back to the Heckler & Koch -factory in Germany to have the work done :) I'm not really good with the specific technical details, but I think it has something to do with preasurised air (and/or other gases) and water-proof seals? Those are both pretty hard to come by in the heat of the battle, I guess.

It seems that several armies around the world actually use them. Mainly the special force divers / diving marine corps. But for some odd reason the specific statistics of the gun are rather 'top secret', in sense of finding stuff about it is a real pain in the ass. Apparently several militaries confirm they use it, but decline to release any more detailed info.

Weird stuff.

And about Desperado / El Mariachi - series... You don't have to take those movies too seriously. If you watch 'em tongue in cheek and want some cool, although ridicilous, shoot-outs they're good enough. Then you feel like you were *supposed* to laugh.

I found this while searching:

Image

Basically a portable machinegun (on top), it flips back like that for carrying, but then you just flip the top back to the left side, and it's a machine gun. The pistol shows about how big it is.

Kewl.. I take it the mechanism itself can not be operated while the thingy is "bent" like that? Otherwise it'd be pretty fucking hilarious if someone shot himself with the thing. You know, the barrel's headed at the shooter and stuff.

... aren't those pen guns somewhat equally hated by the government and authorities as the assault rifles? ;)

As far as I'm concerned, an emptied bic pen is perfect for shooting mashed paper in classes.

We used our pens as dart blowers...Just added needles to cut-up que-tips and shot them at random people.
