I've decided with no prompting to run for president in 2016. Gimme some issues, and I'll put up my thoughts on my campaign page.

The US, probably..I've already got the flag in that picture. Maybe Nigeria? Just so I can see the scammers I'm baiting up-close and personal.

If Bush gets ellected this next time around, I'll probably leave the US and go to...anyplace...Canada, most likely.

Stay out of Toronto... I think you'll have fun in Winnipeg, or something.
suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. suddenly somebody will say like 'plate' or 'shrimp' or 'plate of shrimp', out of the blue, no explanation.

According to www.usa-presidents.info "The president must be a natural-born citizen of the United States, at least 35 years of age, and a resident of the United States for 14 years"... Do you meet all these requirements (or is that the reason why you're running for 2016-2020) ?

Anyways, your agenda on age limitations seems kinda strange... Germans are allowed to smoke and drink when they're 16, Finns are allowed to smoke and drink when they're 18. Finns are the second most heavily drinking people on Earth (right after Hungarians), but they smoke the least from the peoples of Europe. Germans don't drink much at all, but they're the heaviest smokers in all Europe. Funny, ain't it?

I think that's enough to start a political debate? Any (counter-)candidates?

I was born and raised in the US. By 2016 I'll be exactly 35.

The age limitations...Eh..It's removing age limits for the most part...21 to drink, 18 to smoke in the US...Just moving the smoking/voting/etc to 16 instead of 18..And removing the drinking age alltogether.

Don't you think that's a bit too rush decision in your culture and enviroment? I mean, they didn't need to do anything else than lower the taxes for alcohol a bit and the next morning half of Finland had their worst hangover -ever-. And it was Tuesday. Yay for national economy!

It may work in, say, Mediterranean enviroment, where alcohol (especially wine, in some cases beer) is a part of everyday life and not primarily used to drug yourself. But we're talking about a country and people who have historical, religious and social reasons to not to drink wine at every meal *and* the tendency to get drunk when they get alcohol in their hands.

'Tmay cause more harm than good... Especially with young senseless kids. Unless you're, of course, executing social darwinism in the long run?

Updated the page:

Pot/Weed - You can grow it yourself if you want it. Smoke it at home, smoke it at a friends. Get caught transporting it or get caught under the influences, you go to jail. Basically, keep the stuff at home and enjoy it with some nice cartoons.

Summer Time Blues

Future Presidental Candidate:
... age limits for the most part...21 to drink ...
By 1972 most 18 years olds could buy beer and wine, some might have full liquor privledges, depending on the state.
It was a change in the logic: old enough to be drafted, old enough to die for your country, but not old enough to have a beer or cast a vote. Well we got a beer and a vote in 1972.
Consider it 'fall out' from that Vietnam Era.

Oh, ya, got the 18 year old VOTE in 1972.

Guess the 18 to 20.9 year olds were too busy drunk driving to notice that federal highway funds became linked to a states' liquor laws. Guess too many folks were being hurt, too many auto insurance rates were going up.

Guess no one was hurt politcally by the 18 year old vote, since they tended NOT to vote.

Guess where the laws were changed .....

If drinking wasn't a taboo now..Like..If it was so common that it was everywhere for everyone, there wouldn't be such a tendency for people to drink and get drunk all the time. I personally lost interest in alcohol about 3 years ago..Before I was even 21. I'd been drinking since I was 15.

Sort of like candy, maybe? It's always there, and most people just don't eat it. If there was a law saying you could only have candy if you were 13 or older, there would be a mad rush for kids obtaining it illegally and abusing the candy system. (like teenagers do with alcohol and cigarettes.)

What I'm saying is...What are you trying to say?

I'm personally all up for legalizing marijuana and other cannabis-products, mainly because the health risks are much much lower than with alcohol OR tobacco.

But back to alcohol - there are laws that say you can only drive when you are 18 (I guess it's 16 back in the States?), but still there's no mad rush of kids driving around. There's also a law that says you must be 18 to even volunteer for the military, but -again- there's no mad rush of kids swarming in yadi yadi yadi. Bad examples, BUT:

Candy is just as bad, because candy doesn't kill your brain cells or change your personality. I've met and personally know many fat people and many alcoholics. There's this tad difference with those two, that the latter are incapable of working efficiently and therefore practically a drain on the society.

Coffee is a mind-altering substance, too...I know a guy that drank a couple of pots of it and ended up driving off the road because he couldn't keep his hands still. Also changes your personality...Try talking to someone who hasn't had their morning coffee.

Stimulants/Depressants....Good stuff. Legal for everyone.

Future Mr. President:
What I'm saying is...What are you trying to say?

The politics of birthdates, controled substances, and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship: two steps forward one step back ....
