Chances for a Fallout handoff?

Troika and Obsidian have been getting a LOT of press recently. They're really coming to the forefront in gaming...what with Vampire, KOTOR2, and now Neverwinter Nights 2, people are trusting them with established, hardcore fanbase games.
Now, since Bethesda really doesn't have a Fallout plan at all, and Troika has actually said they have one, and Obsidian being good and all, what do you think are the chances that Bethesda might up and sell Fallout to Troika or Obsidian, due kinda to all the flack that Beth has been recieving from Fallout fans amongst other things?
(If anyone from Troika or Obsidian happens to read this and hasn't thought about it, maybe you should contact Bethesda about it
)
((while maybe not realistic in nature, this is something I secretly(more or less) hope for all the time))

Troika isn't Obsidian, King. Obsidian is doing KotOR2 and NWN2.

Bethesda'll never give it (sell it) away... not now when they've gotten their greedy hands on it.
And FO3 will prolly be a horrible creation.

Maybe with the funds that, say, Obsidian could get, backed by like Bioware or something, or even Lucasarts, they could make a tempting offer to Bethesda.

lucasart...
why does that make me wanna cry?
Methinks troika are the only ones that'd make FO3 the way it should be.

Last thing I want is Feargus getting the FO license.

Is he evul?
The reason I named trioka is since many of the old fallout fellas have gone there...
So they should know what is needed in a FO3.
Where's Tim Cain at?
he should change his name to Tim Cane and start doing porn.

Tim is at Troika, Feargus at Obsidian. And Feargus is a hawt graphix partisan.

Will Bethesda sell the fallout franchise? I think the chances are razor thin and none.
Bethesda doesn't have a Fallout plan. We don't know that Bethesda doesn't have a plan, They have simply been vague about their plans and we suspect that they have no plan that suits us. More than likely they have already decided on its basic characteristic. view, engine etc. It also figures that if those plans are a radical departure from what they know the fallout fan base wants they are not likely to be very open with information screen shots until they are near the release date.
The effect of Flack I don't think they really care about all the flack, I think they are more interested in attracting their existing fan base to the Fallout world than winning over people like us that have such a firm link to the the series as it was.
IMHO:
I would look for Bethesda to try to convert both camps to a NEW Fallout world that they hope will be palatable to a large portion of both camps.
I see them doing things like making the basic interface look 'Falloutish' to make us happy and emphasize or create a sub type of human or mutant that can use 'psionics' which is a bit like
mentalism in the realm of standard FRP magic. Their justification would be that the master in FO1 had limited powers of that type (
Convince Gideon to give you a Psychic Nullifier) and that would be throwing a bone to the swords and sorcery folks. Who knows how much the game will be bastardized in the end? For sure they will go for the side of the fence where they perceive that the heaviest fallout pattern of dollars will land.
At this point I expect nothing but endless disappointment but I hope for the best.
Eight hundred centuries ago their birth includes the blood of half breeds, dark is the sway that mows like a, harvest.

It's pretty simple to see that they have absolutely no idea what they are doing at all. The news post that PsychoSniper made today is just the latest proof (not to mention that they haven't even assembled a semblance of a team).

GAAAAH
How could you even think that?
you might be right king

Who knows what those guys are up to, we will be the last to know. I am sure that their primary focus is how to market whatever they puke up not on game design.
And yes the thought of fallout with magic no matter how it is disguised is UGLY isnt it, but i put nothing past the dollar mongers...NOTHING.
sorry for putting that ugly thought in your head.

Could it be because
they aren't doing anything yet?

Yes, assembling teams is as fast as snapping my fingers.

Well, if you're a rational, legitamate organization, you make damn well sure that you have a feasible plan before you jump headfirst into a huge investment, such as having a semblance of a plan, or a group of people who would, say in a corporate world, come up with a proposal of the project, and then those people would then go on to be the project team.
In the case of Bethesda, they jump pounced on the Fallout license like a las vegas whore on a viagra-fied old rich guy. They had no idea of where they wanted to go with the project, no idea of how to approach it. They just thought "hey!!!11! u1tR4 k3wl l3wt!!11!!" and snatched it out of the hands of game devs that were more competent than they were.
Good point.

Apparently they were more interested in the fallout property and in the best position to develop 'something' than the other contenders because it's a cinch that Herve took the highest offer. To Herve fallout was just a way to get his grabbies on the most cash and thats it, Business is Business after all.
Precursors
p1) Securing the property.
p2) Establishment of a work group.
p3) Research
p3) Building The Team
Note:Hardware concerns such as, whats the minumum performance a machine must have to play the game. it must fit in there somewhere at the top I suppose.
The development cycle
1)Concept & Overall Design
2)Sketches
3)Basic Element Construction
4)Alpha Release
5)First Revision
6)Beta Release
7)Final Revision
8)Final Release
I would rather see them take their sweet ass time with the precursors and the initial phases of the development cycle. The right people don't just grow on trees. Not to get on Bethesda's bandwagon, but to be fair
these things do take time. It can take from 1 to 3 years to develop and market a game (or more), have a gander at this.
