Twilight War Q&A

Post by King of Creation »

[Game -> Update]

GamerGod has posted an interview with Kingsley Montgomery and Matthew Simmons, V.P. of Development and V.P. of Marketing, respectively, at Smiling Gator Productions, makers of the MMORPG Twilight War. Here's a little of what they had to say:

GamerGod : How would you summarize what Twilight War is all about?

M. Simmons : In short, Twilight War is all about the players! We at Smiling Gator have all been gamers for years, so we are putting together a unique journey through our vision of post-apocalyptic Earth that will continue to evolve and (we hope) hold interest for a very long time.

GamerGod : This game sounds like it is closer to Anarchy Online than Planetside. How much of it is a MMORPG and how much of it is FPS?

K. Montgomery : First let me say I really liked AO and Planetside, both are great games for their niches. AO is a classic MMORPG (meaning that it is completely statistics based) with a great original setting, and Planetside is a sci-fi persistent FPS with some small elements of role-playing, but a role-playing game it is not at all. Twilight War is nothing like either. What we are doing is merging the MMORPG experience with the FPS experience, with as much overlap as possible, no easy task. We will have the requisite crafting, player housing, large scale and varied world, missions, quests, exploration, and deeper community interactions more common to the RPG side, along with the faster-paced action of the FPS side. FPS features will include a point and shoot combat system (adjusted somewhat for character skill), a variety of vehicles, a good physics system, and team oriented missions and goals (though players will not have to join the team missions to succeed in the game).

You can read the rest of the Q&A here. The game seems like its going to be pretty cool.

Me too.
Thel whole premise of paying $50 for a game, and then $10 a month or whatever just doesn't settle well with me.

I've never bought an MMORPG either, however this does show some promise so far. Supose we'll just have to wait and see if they keep that up or if it goes down the shitter.

I say shitter. Too many companies are investing in MMORPGs because they just realized how lucrative that bullshit EverQrap is. Oh well. Bankrupt a few more companies. Not that Interplaly needs this new MMORPG to go bankrupt. Why does this keep adding double letters. Have to keep deleting. Stupid computer.
off topic? OMG YOU'VE BEEN CENSORED... yet you're still posting. MYSTARY!!!!
