There is no wrong choice, so you don't find out at the end that you made a *bad* decision early on, they'll all be viable.

The fact that he'd rather compare it to Baldur's Gate than Fallout doesn't really sound good to me. But he does say the game will allow you to visit places and do quests in the order you like. Whether or not this includes the main story-related locations i don't know.
