Restricted Area interview

Post by Mr. Teatime »

<strong>[Game -> Update]</strong>

Following the announcement of <a href="http://www.restricted-area.net/">Restricted Area</a>'s release in Germany, there's an <a href="http://www.hcgamer.hu/gamer/index.php?p ... terview</a> on <a href="http://www.hcgamer.hu/">HC.Gamer</a> with <b>Jan Beuck</b> of <a href="http://www.master-creating.com/">Master Creating</a>.<blockquote><i><b>HCG: What kind of places can we explore in the game? Please mention a few!</b>
<br>
<br>JB: There are lots of different places, and unlike caves and castles you most likely haven't ever visit them in another game before - or at least not that often. ;) The futuristic downtown area of the city, the desert-like Wastelands, subterrestrial labratories, prisons, shelters, factories... and the sewers under them - to name just a few.</i></blockquote>In an unintentionally humourous translation quirk, every question is ended with an exclamation mark, so the whole thing reads like bad Japanese anime. At least, it does to me.

The phrase "bad anime" is redundant. :P

Um... I don't know what type of games those Germans play but those locations are extremely old fucking hat. Hopefully the actual gameplay will be better than the OMG creative! locals.

I think my favorite part of the interview is the following. Don't think I need to explain it at all, it stands by itself just fine.
HC.Gamer wrote:HCG: How about the combat mode? Would it be something similar to Diablo (hack 'n slash) or Baldur's Gate (turn based combat)? Or both?

JB:
It's more like Diablo, but even faster and more action-packed! While we wanted the RPG part to offer more traditional RPG elements than in Diablo, we wanted the action part to really feel like an action game.
