Core missions 13, 14, 18, and 20...

...are missing!

I was just looking through the core maps, and I can't find missions 13, 14, 18, and 20! Anyone know where they are? I unzipped/looked through all of the mis-core_X.bos files, and they aren't there either! I also peeked at mission_to_cd.txt in Mis-Main_0.bos and the maps are "skipped" there as well!

What's up?

They weren't included with the core campaign. There was so much that was left out/unimplemented it isn't funny. These mission are to be lumped in with that glut.

I'd love to see what they were like. Especially since a goodly portion of the Reaver chapter disappeared, and they were hands-down my favorite enemy. :(

Oh. K.

Really? Well, in that case, you should play Rebellion :D

The lost missions:

Mis13: Begin the clean up the remaining Super Mutants in the region. During the course of the mission, the player spots a wide path of destruction caused by a single behemoth bot. Help the town evacuate, and destroy the robot if possible.

Mis14: Ambush a mutant invasion force in it's last bid for a besieged settlement. Among ruined city blocks, the player would have to ambush waves of super mutants, for long enough to buy time for evacuation of threatened town.

Mis17: Escort a BOS scribe to the site of a fallen robot to gather information. The robot is seen as a deity to the reavers who inhabit the town, and become hostile if the player is not stealthy in their approach.

Mis20: Capture a reaver controlled oil facility.

These levels were all cut before any scripting had begun. It was obvious that we weren't going to have time to do them all, so these ones were cut, mostly because they weren't important to the main plot line, but also because they bore a few similarities to other levels.

Well, mis20 does sound a little run-of-the-mill, but those others sound DAMN cool! I especially like the mis13 plan.

Any way we can get our hands on those maps? I know you said they were axed before and scripting was done... and that's exactly why I'm intrigued  Could we (or just me  ) have what was done, i.e. the tiles?

Here we go again. As with the editors, and FOT2 material, I'd like to provide, but it's not my call, so I have a feeling the official answer is no. Besides, I don't think they'd be of that much use. Mission 14 was one of mine, and the tile layout is not even complete. It's bare bones, and not too exciting. Basically a bunch a city blocks layed out, with no attention to detail, and for the most part, empty streets and buildings.

Thanks for the info Section8. Most of those sound like they would've been fun. Any insight as to why the Bot in Mission 17 was seen as a deity by the Reavers? Where they supposed to belong to a different faction than the Bot-hating Reavers encountered in Mission 15 (Junction City)?

[Psssst, Max...stop pestering the man!]

Good question, OTB. I've just completed Junction City again and most Reaver comments are along the lines of the robots "being tools of Satansoft".....

Perhaps the Mission 17 robot was running a Linnux based OS?? :)

Ooops. My mistake. I checked the doc, and the Bot worshippers are actually called the "Followers of the Iron Savior," and aren't actually Reavers at all. They are a very similar foe though. Religious zealots that praise technology. Which is probably another reason why it was cut. Too similar to the Reavers.

I'd hoped to hear about something like "The Proton Reformation" within the Reaver Movement, but this is still interesting.

According to your information are the Reavers supposed to be a localized movement in/around Newton or the Midwestern US, or are they more widespread? I was looking in the Fallout: Warfare PDF and there's no real information on this sort of thing.

Thanks again, Section8.

From what I can infer from the docs (can't find anything really definite on the matter) they seem to be fairly localised. They were founded by raiders who stumbled upon a military cache, and took some of the same ideals as the BOS to more extremist levels. I'll post more if I can find more, but all our docs are zipped up, so it takes some trawling.

That would explain why Fallout: Warfare lumps them in the same category and mentions that while the two groups aren't usually found together it isn't unheard of.

Did Chris Avellone ever get with you about including this stuff in the FO Bible? While some people will undoubtedly scream bloody murder, if the FoT appendix were included it would be helpful to more players.

I am very interested in the Reavers and Reaver-like organizations...er...for reasons that I cannot disclose. :)

Thank yet again,

Chris was in contact with me about a possible FOT supplement to the bible, but the whole thing was called off due to a misunderstanding between Chris and Vault13 regarding the correct pronunciation of tomato and potato.
