Interplay remains NASDAQ compliant

Post by Mr. Teatime »

<strong>[Company -> Update]</strong>

<a href="http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/041014/deth ... tml">Yahoo are reporting</a> that <a href="http://www.interplay.com">Interplay</a> "<i>... will remain listed on the NASDAQ Bulletin Board</i>" (don't ask me what the NASDAQ Bulletin Board is). Here's a quote:<blockquote><i>Commenting on the announcements, Interplay Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Herve Caen said, "This has been an incredibly challenging first half of 2004 for Interplay, its investors and employees. Although significant hurdles remain, we are pleased to be back in compliance with the OTC Bulletin Board, moved into our new corporate offices, and moving forward with our plan to enter into Massively Multiplayer Online Gaming."
<br>
<br>Net revenues for the second quarter 2004 were $3.1 million versus $1.3 million in the same period a year ago, an increase of 147 percent. Operating loss decreased 78% percent from the prior year to $1.183 million in the second quarter 2004 as compared to $5.378 million in the second quarter 2003. The decrease in net loss, operating losses, and increase in net revenues was mainly a result of continuing sales in the second quarter from the first quarter releases of "Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II" and "Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel" in Europe and recording a $1.175 million gain on the sale of the rights to develop "Fallout 3" on all platforms other than massive multiplayer. The second quarter 2003 did not have comparable sales.</i></blockquote>I'd say that <i>Fallout 3</i> is almost certainly going to be multiplatform. Let's hope it will be PC first, with a console port following afterwards, then.

I very much doubt it. If you design a game which is portable to consoles, you have to keep it in mind.

$3.1 million... damn near exactly what Bethesda paid for Fallout. Or have they not yet paid the $1M each for FO4 and 5? I'm not sure.

It's hard to have operating losses when you're not operating.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

I don't think they've paid for Fallout 4 and 5, since Bethsoft aren't sure if they're making Fallout 4 and 5 yet, it depends on how 3 does, I'm assuming.

Argh, man, it looks like the plumbing is backing up. I thought we flushed the turd that Interplay was down.

And, some advice to all to take in their life.

When you have low expectations, you'll never be disappointed in life. 'Nuff said.
