A German journalist called Boris Reitschuster from a magazine called FOCUS has visited Chernobyl and written up an article about his experiences and impressions of the abandoned city. It's been translated by HeadHunter from Oblivion-Lost.com, and the translation can be found <a href="http://stalker.myexp.de/forum/viewtopic ... uote>On our way back we see dead villages. Then Chernobyl. A mutated city. 6,500 people live here today. They arrive in shifts for four days of work here – then home for three days. They live in the old houses which are “community dwellings today. They work in the “deadly zone – that is how they call the 30 kilometers around the power plant. Lumberjacks, scientists, firemen. A city without children and without old people. Everywhere empty, run-down houses. No cars – just trucks every now and then.
It's spooky reading. There are some interesting pictures in the article as well.
