woot, new GWAR album

Post by LlamaGod »

For any who care, there be a new GWAR album on the horizon = MUCH COOLO, especially since the last one was in 2001.

Comes out October 26th

Tracklist:

Bring Back the Bomb
Krosstika
Womb with a View
Decay of Grandeur
War Party
Bonesnapper (The Faces of the Slain)
Lost God
The Reaganator
The Bonus Plan
You Can't Kill Terror
Fistful of Teeth

Free MP3 of the song "War Party" here: http://www.gwar.net/media/albums/wp/warparty.mp3

Then this website has 3 songs (War Party, Krosstika, Decay of Grandeur) in a flash thingy (high quality though): http://www.hyfntrak.com/gwar/fromafriend/

Seems pretty cool, classic GWAR humor along with a different sound, sounds like their old stuff combined with their new stuff, purdy good.

Probably one of the most underrated bands.

As far as stage shows go they're without peer.

Musically, well, considering all the other shit that floods the airwaves, GWAR probably is underrated. But going to a GWAR show for the music, is like watching porn for the great stories and dialogues.

Yeah, their live shows are pretty awesome, but they are great musicians. Alot of people dont give them that credit because omg they act goofy.

Yeah I saw GWAR in '90 and again in '94. Took me days to scrub the blood out from under my fingernails. The quality of their shows and costumes has really improved a lot since then.

They even got a Grammy nomination for Phallus in Wonderland I think.

The pathectic thing about the music industry is that GWAR has way more integrity than most of the shwag on the radio and MTV. They couldn't sell out if they wanted to.
Well, except for that movie where Sleazy sold them to some corporation for a suitcase of coke, and they made GWAR stuffed toys and a kid's cartoon. That's was funny shit.

Well that statement proves that beauty is in the eye of the beholder or in this case the ear. Bands like Tool, Dream Theater, Rush, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Corrosion of Conformity, are great bands with great musicians. GWAR Great musicians? Not by a long shot but certainly a fun band to see while drunk and in an uppity mood.

GWAR is what it has always been a tongue in cheek parody metal band. Some people take them seriously when they themselves do not, never forget that by their own admission GWAR stands for 'God What an Awful Racket.'

The one thing that I like about GWAR is that they are sharp stick in the collective eye of the religious right. The faithful see them as a pack of ultra evil agents of Satan bent on recruiting the youth of the world into the legions of hell. I enjoy how the bible thumpers seem to miss the point, and completely miss the humor. I saw GWAR in the late 80’s when the poster girl for Christian music ‘Amy Grant’ was exposed as a drug taking adulterous slut, GWAR did a fine job ripping an effigy of her apart on the stage and eating her guts, it was hilarious. So, while I may not take them as serious musicians I do like them.

"I Hate Love Songs"

I hate love songs and I hate lovers
I hate everything that I can't have so I hate you
I hate love songs and I hate lovers
I hate everything that I can't have so I hate you
I hate movies with happy endings
Like that one I saw where all the girls were beautiful like you
Like you
I hate wet dreams and masturbation
I hate everything that feels good like sex with you
I hate flowers and little birdies
Makes me wanna puke when I see something cuddily like you
I'm bored with your insanity
I'm too tired to smile at your stupidity
You've got the very best of me
fell in love push came to shove but you broke so easily
I love hate songs 'bout mass destruction
other people's pain takes my mind off you
I love puppies when they're road-kill
They're too cute too live, too cute to live
like you
I'm bored with immortality
I'm too tired to stick it out for eternity
You've got the very best of me
fell in love push came to shove and you broke so easily
I hate love songs
I hate love so I hate you
