Another God Damn STALKER Interview

Post by Mad Max RW »

[Game -> Update]

Yup, can't go one day, let alone a week without somebody somewhere asking asking about S.T.A.L.K.E.R.. In this edition Gamesfire.ch roped an exclusive interview with Oleg Yavorsky. I noticed leading fansite Oblivion-Lost was kind enough to cut through the fat:
- GSC is thinking about a special edition. We should keep our eyes open for an announcement.
- The game has been in development for four years.
- Expect 100-120 hours to discover every corner of the Zone.
- GSC is totally focusing on the PC version, so no plans regarding a console version at the moment.
- The bumping "mario-like" artefacts that could be seen in some movies from the German Games Convention were placeholders. "There will be dozens of artefacts that differ in shape, abilities and places where they could be found."
- You will not be able to leave the Zone.
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R. will surely support 5.1 surround sound systems. GSC is not sure about 7.1 yet.
- Latest release-date: still Q1 2005.
1st Q 2005 maybe? I guess there isn't a Russian translation for "when it's done". Considering how several official release dates have already come and gone.

Well, ain't that some shit. Maybe other developers should give doing that a thought.

I see, well don't really give a fuck about all the hightech soft in the game. More like the atmosphere and the area were you are placed in this is my major interest. Maybe the power plant is also inculded in the area. Or at least I hope so.

Ou yeah, almost forgot this one. Hightech soft meaning something like that 5.1 surround sound system, things like that. It sounds good but doesn't really add anything important to the game. Or not in here anyway cause I do not have anything superior soundwise. I got far too much stuff in this room, so no room for fancy soundsystems. Mayby I should just bulldoze this mess.
