Theres a cheat to skip combat.

But the nuke attack is worth seeing.

My mind conveniently expunged the memory of the awful, oh so frequent combat. Delightful.

Well, yeah, it's a jRPG, but it's not actually j. Instead, it's funny and interesting. The combat is nightmarishly bad, yes, but just try to think of it as an adventure game with these occasional tedious minigames where you have to click on monsters.

Weird how all these games with great stories end up with horribly terrible combat systems. It's like the developers are doing it on purpose.

I really didn't mind the combat, but it was the worst part of the game, yes. But given the fantastic quality of the rest of the game, it was no problem to endure the fights.
