I always liked classical music. I blame looney toons and other such cartoons for having classical music in em.

Interesting Fact: Tchaikovsky was a homosexual. He got married so he wouldn't be persecuted as one. I always thought that was pretty interesting.

Yes, Mozart's Requiem is awesome as is most of his music; he was perhaps the most gifted of all composers. And the right spelling is Beethoven.

It's true that Tchaikovsky was gay. In fact, he wrote a violin concerto (widely considered to be one of the best Romantic-Era pieces ever) for his lover, a violinist. And this was all while he was married. Anyway, I'll contest Corpse's claim that Mozart was the "most gifted" of all composers. He's up there, but he's certainly not unrivalled. Besides, it's rather difficult to compare composers who lived hundreds of years apart, because their composition style is so radically different from one another. For instance, Mozart is considered to be a genius in every form of classical composition, whereas Chopin is considered a genius only in piano works, though many consider his piano works to be the best ever.

So anyway, when it comes to choosing between the "elite" composers, it mainly all boils down to personal preference.

I agree with you Schubert but don't forget Mozart was writing operas since he was a small child.
