I've yet to mess with it, but the screen shots look nice.

After seeing megatron's post, I do realize I had seen it. I just didn't get it because I don't usually download random zip files.
Anyone know why they dropped the project?
I'd much rather play games that are less than 100kb than play games that require 6GB or more.

Well I'd rather play games that require less than 2000$ vid card.

Well gee, I could go and ask since the developers live almost next door...
"well, it is exactly that, a technology showoff for our procedural content creation system, the .werkkzeug3. if you're interested in the details, refer to our technology section."
I think the group's been pretty quiet recently. Not anything new in quite a while, latest news entry: "5 aug 04". Besides, they used to (and I think they still do) concentrate on making demos and applying for different kinds of competitions with them. But I'm not even sure if they were present at the Assembly '05...

Their demos are much cooler than that game.

It requires a lot more power to run a game like that, because it creates everything or something.

Also it means the textures really, really suck and hey howdy this game's textures really suck. Not to mention the awful design, but that's independent of the technology, of course.

And not just textures, sound effects also. Those things are dang tough to compress. But oh well there's not much room for creativity since most of the things you see in the game are created by 20kb big mathematical algorithms.

The actual demoes and the game they make are bogus...
All of the textures already exist on your computer, in DirectX, so the program just utilizes those, explaining why the files are so compact.
Looks nice though, and makes a nice first time impression.

Uh, no shit?
I think you missed the point, which is that it's still bloody spectacular to use such a narrow collection of raw materials and turn it into something like they have. I've seen shittier stuff that can only barely be squeezed on a DVD, so I think 128/96/64 kb is pretty damn fine.
Like I said earlier, most of content in those packages is just pure math; algorithms, whatever.
