Super-dumb question

How might I assign the normal World Map to my campaign? The campaign editor wants a .png instead of a .zar (of which the Worldmap is - I know 'cause I extracted the thing), so um... WTF?

The editor takes the PNG and converts it into a ZAR (which is how it's stuck into the campaign).

Yea I kinda figured that part, but I dunno how to do a zar -> png. I thought that's what "Recurse" was for, but when I have that checked, the editor still asks for a png.
This is really silly - I just want to use the normal World Map image for my campaign, and I just can't figure it out! *sigh*

Unless Red's viewer can save it as a png, you may have to go the circuitous route. Use the zar2gif to make it a gif, open up PSP and turn it into a png.

How about something a bit simpler than all of that mumbo-jumbo verging on graphical voodoo?
It's very simple, really: Open the core campaign and modify if to be your CAM file. All of that superfluous info will be dumped as you import your own data, but the relevant part(s) that you want will stay.
Okay, back to dragging all of my worldly possessions down three doors...
Cheers,
OTB

This is what I did... Open campaign editor.. then open BOS.cam, the import your CAMPAIGN.txt, and you'll still have the world map, but it will use your info, missions, if you edited the generic.txt right......the save it as something else..... works good for

Yes, that's exactly what I was (apparently fruitlessly) trying to tell Max to do.
46+2: Max is right, all I did was move three doors down, but since the phone company took their sweet-assed time about getting my new line hooked up, I may as well have been on the dark side of the moon as this forum is concerned.
It's good to be back and all that.
