Childkiller

I never played a game with a childkiller character (though I killed some to see the thing in my character sheet and then reloaded), so I was wondering... What difference does it make in a game, besides being attacked by Avellone and his goons (In FO1) and not being able to recruit Cassidy (in FO2)?

Well, in Fallout 2 there are several persons that wont talk to you if you're a childkiller. Bounty hunters will also hunt you if you're a childkiller, I think, and you'll miss out some quests too. For example you can't work for Wrights and get into SAD, which sucks because there's no other way in. You can't do any Wright's quests if you're a slaver or have negative karma, either. Some NPCs leave your party if you get the childkiller trait. I guess there's more too...

Them thieving kids deserve a bullet though.

Sulik will leave your party. Those bounty hunters get pretty strong by the end of the game. They attack you with gauss rifles and miniguns and have power armor.

Jeez...
And now, for the good part of being a childkiller:..................................(sound of crickets)
Aw, c'mon! There's got to be something good about it! Won't the baddies (i.e.: the raiders) like me more?

Well, I think it's kinda cool if my char is a childkiller. I guess that's the only 'good thing' about it.

You get those cool posters in the towns you go to.

I don't think so. Maybe if you become a Bishop Made Man or something.

They're not raiders - they're mercenaries. If you think about it you will realize that you're merc as well.

There're not typical raiders in Fo2.

No, you can't join them 'mercenaries' in Fallout 2.

Plus it's so much fun roasting kids with a flamethrower and getting that dancing & burning animation. And ripping them to shreds with a Bozar. And beating them to death with rocks.

**Wistful Sigh**

Well, now I'm all itchin' to start a new game as a childkiller. Never seen the "wanted" posters before. IMO, FO2 isn't as good as the first one in that aspect. I mean, if you really want to get experience from quests and progress (relatively) fast, you've got to be a good guy. I hate that. :x

Well, killing civilians and bounty hunters give you nicely exp too. Too bad you miss most of the quests, and there aren't many 'evil' quests around to compensate that. But still, I never had any problems levelling up with an evil character; just wander around the desert, some random encounters give you a lot of experience(especially the ones with caves).

I recommend you travel to New Reno and get the Sierra Army Depot quest before your karma drops too low. There's no way to get it if you have low karma. Joining the slavers and killing all the slaves on every slave run gives you lots of negative karma.

This evil stuff reminds me of playing a dumb character in FO2. I started a game with 3 IN and it's amazing how just in Arroyo, you miss out on most stuff like finding Smoke, getting the money from the Elder, spear and unarmed training, and sharpening your spear. Then in Klamath, you miss out on Smiley the Trapper, Whiskey Bob's still, Sulik, and most other stuff. On the upside, you do get the excellent conversation with Torr.

Butchering the Wrights is fun as hell. Especially the kids.

By the way, anybody else ever do that shit where you give one of the little brats outside a gun and tell him to go waving it around his dad while pulling the trigger. Classic.

Yeah, absolutly classic stuff. That's what's cool. There is an indirect way to kill each boss.

Well, yeah, but how do you take out Big Jesus Mordino without going through a rather long (albeit easy if in the endgame) gunfight?

Use a drug on him.

Well, d'oh! Why didn't I think of that...
